Aduana Stars have managed to move up to second place in the Ghana Premier League, thanks to their four game-winning run.
Wins against Tamale, Legon Cities, Western African Football Academy, and Great Olympics have seen Aduana climb above Asante Kotoko to take second place on the table. Aduana has 14 points with seven games played, placing them only two points behind the log leader King Faisal who lead with 16 points.
This start to the season has been impressive when you consider how Aduana began their campaign. Two draws and a defeat to King Faisal in the first three games had many doubting they would be able to be competitive this season.
But head coach Asare Bediako called for patience among the fans, urging them to wait for the team to gel and allow the new players to be integrated fully into the team. Bediako is a coach who believes in the football philosophy of positional play, which requires lots of discipline and tactical ability. The players look formidable and are playing to the coaches instructions – part of their standout ability to always score early goals. Now, Aduana is reaping the rewards of trusting the process and are hitting the high notes on and off the field.
How the management, coaching staff and players have gone about the season so far also has to be applauded. Aduana is a club with good management who make sure the administrative side of the club is well run. They have also secured an exciting partnership with 10bet Africa, which will help to develop the club and create more opportunities for those associated. Aduana is now the on-form team in Ghana, which speaks volumes about the personnel in the club.
In the past weekend’s 1-0 win over Great Olympics, Aduana grabbed an early lead thanks to a Bright Adjei header. Players like Adjei, captain Joseph Addo, and Derick Boateng Afeson have been instrumental as leaders of the team, making sure the squad buys into what the coach wants.
This week Aduana Stars will have two tough fixtures; the first will be on Wednesday 15 December against Ashanti Gold and the second on Sunday 19 December with Berekum Chelsea. These two games will test the Aduana Stars strength to push for the league title.
The away trip to Ashanti Gold should not be a difficult game for Audana to win. Ashanti doesn’t score many goals, and they have lost to sides Aduana tore apart. With their current form, Aduana Stars can win 2-0.
Sunday’s opponents, Berekum Chelsea, are in 16th place. Aduana should be optimistic when looking at this one. With home advantage on their side, Bediako’s side will look to score plenty of goals; Aduana must look to beat B Chelsea 3-0.
Two wins this week might see Aduana go to the top of the table and then kick on the chase for a third league title in their history. If you think Aduana will cinch these games, why not test the odds and you could cash in and cash out quick.
